Obituary For John Quincy Raines

John Quincy Raines, 69, of Lillington NC, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024. John was born on March 21, 1954, to the late Catherine and Robert Raines in Dunn NC at Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital. He attended Johnston County Public Schools. He was employed at T.R. Ashworth for many years, from 1982-2012. Many friends and loved ones knew him as Tony Buck. He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret Raines. He was the beloved Father to three daughters Cassandra (Vacaba) Toure of Fuquay NC, Kena (Gregory) Signal of Fuquay NC, and Macy (Corey) Woods of Lillington NC. He also leaves to cherish one Grandson, Cameron Toure of Fuquay NC, and Five Granddogs that he would often take care of Bruno, Moscato, Melo, Charlie, and Russell. Additionally, he leaves to cherish three sisters Narcissa Haire of Benson NC, Linda Badges of Benson NC, Cathy McLean of Benson NC, and one brother William (Rachel) Raines of Benson NC. He was preceded in death by two brothers Paul Raines and Vernie Raines. He also leaves to cherish many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

John was strong-willed and determined to the end, even challenging his medical doctors at times. Despite it all, we loved him dearly and he will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Trice Funeral Home Chapel 127 N. West Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
