Shelby Jean Turman
Shelby Jean Turman was born on March 23, 1939, in McMinnville, Tennessee to the late Herman and Myrena Looper. She attended Warren County Schools and was a graduate of Bernard High.
After leaving McMinnville TN, Shelby relocated to Painesville, OH where she met her late husband, Maxie Turman. They later had 3 children and in 1976 relocated to Clearwater, FL.
Shelby took great pride in being an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother to her grandchildren. Shelby enjoyed entertaining and cooking for community gatherings. She was a member of the Bethany CME Church in Clearwater and faithfully served on the Hospitality Committee.
She took great joy in serving as a volunteer for the Annual Community Family Fun Night and was the recipient of numerous awards for her outstanding service. Shelby was recognized by many for her gift of fashion & flair.
On Saturday, February 10, 2024, Shelby gained her wings and transitioned peacefully at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Pinellas Park at the age of 84.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Myrena Looper, her late husband Maxie Turman, 8 siblings James Looper, Frank Looper, Donald Looper, Vonda Cope, Linda Looper, Deroyce Looper, Betty Dillard, and JoAnn Brown.

Daughters: Mary Noble, Robin Crockam (Johnny), and Marilyn Turman of Clearwater, FL.
Siblings: Norma Wolford & Ray Looper of St. Louis MO.
Grandchildren: Anisha Hamm, Carolyn Johnson & Devon Johnson.
Great-grandchildren: Elijah Hamm, Aaliyah Hamm, Gabrielle Johnson, Airyn Hamm & Genevive Johnson.
Special Bonus Daughters: Rhoda Turman & Cynthia White.
