Obituary For Ida Mae Tucker

Funeral services for Ms. Ida Tucker, 79, of Talladega will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Peace Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Van T. Welch will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery. Ms. Tucker will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be held from 1-7 pm on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the funeral home.

On September 29, 1944, Ida Mae Tucker was born in Talladega, Alabama to the union of Charlie B. Tucker and Gracie (neé Pertillo) Tucker.

Ms. Tucker dedicated her life to Christ and united with Peace Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Talladega City School where she was a graduate of Westside High School. Ida worked hard for many years in the domestic field. She enjoyed spending her free time watching various television shows and during the fall she followed the Auburn Tigers throughout their football season.

On the morning of February 11, 2024, Ida traded time for eternity. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Charlie and Gracie Tucker; and four siblings, Edward Tucker, Mary Alice Simmons, David Tucker and Mattie Pettis.

Ida leaves to cherish her memories: one sister, Sandra J. Fuller of San Diego, California; two brothers, Charlie (Mary) Tucker, Jr. of Talladega, Alabama and Robert Tucker of San Diego, California; a special nephew, Orlando “Roscoe” Simmons of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
