Jerry Jones, Sr. the loving husband for 55 year of Lavern Roberson Jones, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at an Augusta Hospital.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the James and Virginia Davis Chapel.
Mr. Jones was born August 6, 1943, one of five children born to the parentage of the now late Charlie and Mariah Gough Jones, Sr.
Jerry is preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Charlie Jones, Jr and Thomas Jones
At an early age Jerry joined the Christian family at 2nd Antioch Bapt Church where he served as church clerk for many years. He was a graduate of Waynesboro High Industrial. He furthered his education at Augusta Tech where he graduated on January 14, 2005 with a certification in Industrial Ammonia Refrigerator. He loved working with his hands so there was nothing that he could not repair. He loved fixing TVs, refrigerators and building projects.
Regardless to what he had to do he always took time out to spoil his grands and great-grands.
He will be profoundly missed by his loving wife: Lavern Roberson Jones, Waynesboro, GA; his caring and devoted children: Valerie (Terries) Peeples, Wrens, GA, Ronald Jones, Augusta, GA, Jerry (Toye) Jones, Jr., Chicago, Illinois; his siblings: Ruben Jones, Seaborn (Ida) Jones, Vidette, GA. Louise Brown, Augusta, GA; his grandchildren: Tyesha Peeples, Grovetown, GA, Terries Peeples, Jr. , Wrens, GA Ryan Jones, Chicago, Illinois; his great- grandchildren: Tailynn Perrin and Talayah Peeples, Grovetown, GA; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Glorestine (Loreston) Davis, Ellenwood, GA, Rickey Sheely and Michael Sheely, Louisville, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
