Obituary for Carroll Douglas Shore

Carroll Douglas Shore of Rock Hill, SC went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 5, 2024. Carroll was the loving husband of Lynn Calvo Shore for 35 years.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 – 3:30 pm Friday, February 9, 2024 in the parlor at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Associate Reformed, 2132 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC. Burial will be private.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. Carroll, or Poppy and Pops as he was affectionately known by his grandchildren, was born in Anderson, SC. He was the son of the late Margaret and John Belia Shore. He was a general contractor in York County for many years. He loved building homes and memories for many in the area. He enjoyed his time at Edisto Beach, cheering on his grandchildren, and spending time with his family.

Carroll is survived by daughters Krystal Sherwood (Sam), Lisa Kullmar (Russ), and Angela Kirkpatrick (Joe); sons Doug Shore, Jr. (Michelle), and Walt Dixon, III (Kelli); grandchildren Brendan McCoy, Gray Shelley, Tyler Goodman, Michaela Dixon, Lucy McConnell, Austin Shore, Walker Kirkpatrick, Clara Sherwood, and Thompson Kirkpatrick; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers Jim Shore, Dickie Shore (Brenda); sisters Judy Stovall (Larry) and Sue Hannon; and many nieces and nephews. Carroll was preceded in death by his brother David Shore.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, 2132 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
