IN THE EARLY MORNING hours of February 1, 2024, at 56 years of age, Glynnis P. Dollison, aka Glynn, passed away peacefully at home.

Born and raised in Poulan, Georgia, to the late Robert Dollison, Jr. and Bernice F. Dollison Glynn was the youngest of three siblings: Ricky, Sheila, and Glynn. As a child, Glynn’s family and friends called him “Red.” He was educated through the Worth County School System and graduated from Worth County High School in 1985. He continued his education at Darton State College before attending Albany State University where he received his B.S. degree in Business Management in 1991.

At an early age, Glynn accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Jake Edwards, Jr. It was at Pleasant Grove where Glynn began laboring in God’s vineyard. In 1988, he was ordained as a Deacon and later served as Church Treasurer until his passing. A man of unwavering faith, Glynn served as a dedicated Deacon, where his compassionate spirit touched the lives of many. His commitment to his faith was evident in his church community and was how he embraced life with kindness and generosity.

After graduation from Albany State University, Glynn worked for Target Distribution in Tifton, Georgia, and then the Target Retail store in Albany, Georgia. In 1995, he gained employment at Proctor and Gamble in Albany, Georgia. Professionally, Glynn was a valued full-time team member where his dedication and hard work made a lasting impact on his colleagues. His legacy will continue to inspire those who were privileged to work alongside him.

In September 1993, Glynn married the love of his life, Sonja Washington, and this union brought one devoted son, Glynn Dollison II.

In celebrating the life of Glynn Dollison, we remember a man whose warmth, faith, and work ethics left an indelible mark on the hearts of those around him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by family, friends, and everyone who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Sonja Dollison; his loving son, Glynn Dollison II; his mother, Bernice Dollison; his brother, Ricky (Leila) Dollison, Sr.; his sister, Sheila Dollison; a “special daughter”, Mekayla Dollison; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives.

As a father and a Christian, Deacon Glynn Dollison understood his responsibility to care for and provide stability for his family. He was loyal, obedient, gentle, and kind to all who knew him. His love, friendship, and his smiling face will forever be cherished.
