SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mr. Hicks Lamotte Robinson was born on March 7, 1958 in Greer, SC to J.W. Robinson and Flora Staggs Robinson, the third of three children.He departed this life on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Hicks graduated from James F. Byrnes High School in Duncan, SC, in 1976. Following his graduation, Hicks started his welding career at Boiler Tube of America where he worked tirelessly for 12 years. In 1989, he moved on to General Electric where he became an indispensable member of the team for 22 years.He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and a diehard Los Angeles Lakers and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was a deep-sea fisherman, a jazz lover and a self-taught technology expert. His greatest joy in life was his family and he took much pride in his two sons and loving wife.He leaves behind to cherish his memory and life: his beloved wife, Yvonne; two sons, Brandon Alexander of Huntsville, AL, and Evan Jamaal of Clemson, SC; his parents,J.W. and Flora Robinson of Spartanburg, SC; his siblings, Robert Salters of Startex, SC, Debra Gadsden of Cumming, GA, and Maxie (Matthew) Rodgers of Greenville, SC; nieces, Yasmine Robinson of Greer, SC, LaKeisha Mabe of Kentucky, Victoria Gadsden of Cumming, GA; nephews, Taurus Salters of Spartanburg, SC, Christian Rodgers of Greenville, SC, and Everest Gadsden of Cumming, GA; and a host of relatives, friends, and associates.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Greater Hopewell Baptist Church. Startex, SC. Dr. Lewis Mills and Pastor Carl McRoy will officiate. Burial will be in the Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, Boiling Springs, SC.
