HEMPSTEAD, NY-- Mrs. Marshilene Rice-Barnes, 82, of Hempstead, NY, entered into eternal rest Sunday, November 13, 2011. She was the widow of Mr. George Barnes. She was the daughter of the late Mr. David Rice and Mrs. Sallie Thompson Rice. She was a native of Spartanburg County. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Majority Baptist Church and attended Carver High School.Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Mae Davis of Spartanburg, SC; two grandchildren, Renata Rice of Ill., and Bryant Rice of New York; two great-grandsons, Sha-Ron and Marquis; and nieces, Ms. Dorothy Means, Lovette Davis and Laverene Jones, all of Spartanburg, SC.
