Mrs. Fannie Mae "Big Ma" Jefferies HughesSPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Fannie Mae "Big Ma" Jefferies Hughes, of 141 Tharon Drive, entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 10, 2011. Mrs. Hughes was the widow of Mr. Bennie James Hughes. Mrs. Hughes was the daughter of the late Mr. John Jefferies and Mrs. Evelyn Rice Jefferies. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Monks Grove Baptist Church, where she served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, VBS Teacher, Trustee's wife, a member of the Missionary Society, the Monks Grove and Smith Line Sympathy Clubs.Survivors include five sons, Mr. Alvin (Jerline) Jefferies of Greenville, SC, Jeffery Leroy Hughes of Colorado Springs, CO, Mr. James Hughes of Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Terry (Peggy) Hughes of Wellford, SC, and Mr. Pinkey (Mary) Hughes of Boiling Springs, SC; four daughters, Mrs. Geraldine (Wilson) Pearson, Ms. Connie Tanner, Mrs. Almonia (Marshall) Franks, and Mrs. Karen (Fred) Sullivan of Spartanburg, SC; one brother, Mr. Kevin Jefferies of Spartanburg, SC; three sisters, Ms. Clarice Holloway of Stratford, CT, Mrs. Bobby (Calvin) Haywood of Spartanburg, SC, and Ms. Mable Miller of Flint, MI; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15, at 2:00 p.m. at the Monks Grove Baptist Church. Rev. D. R. Durham will officiate.
