Whitty, funny and energetic were just a few words that could be used to describe the beautiful young woman known as Toccara Alexandria Ashley. Toccara’s began to shine on May 25, 2001, born to Constance T. Ashley and Daniel Gamble in Sylacauga, Alabama.

Ms. Ashley dedicated her life to Christ and found her spiritual home under the leadership of Carpenterville Baptist Church in North Augusta, South Carolina. She used her gifts in the youth choir and served as an usher. Toccara was a graduate of North Augusta High School and worked on creating her own lip glosses with the hopes of becoming an entrepreneur. Music and dancing were some things that gave Toccara joy along with her love for her family and for children.

Toccara will be greatly missed by her parents, Constance (Linwood) Boyd of North Augusta, South Carolina and Daniel Gamble of Birmingham, Alabama; her grandmother, Bertha Ashley of Talladega, Alabama; four sisters, Jonika Garrett of Sylacauga, Alabama, Tylor Gamble and Taylor Gamble of Birmingham, Alabama and Kiana Boyd of Augusta, Georgia; three brothers, Daniel Gamble, Jr. of Columbus, Georgia, Jaylon Garrett of Alpine, Alabama and Linwood (Gaila) Boyd of Trenton, South Carolina; four aunts, Marshel Ashley of Talladega, Alabama, Gloria Gamble, Denise Gamble and April Lauderdale of Sylacauga, Alabama; three uncles, Willie (Antionette) Ashley, Jr. of Sylacauga, Alabama, Carolos Ashley of Alpine, Alabama and William Gamble of Sylacauga, Alabama; four nephews and nieces, JaKyle, Skylar, Princeton and Kathan; and a host of other relatives and friends.

After 22 years of joy brought to her family, the beautiful light that once shined in Toccara was extinguished on January 29, 2024. She joined her grandparents, Reverend Willie Ashley and Doris Gamble; and an uncle, Billy Gamble, as an eternal flame burning in the heart of those that will miss her.
