Mr. Jimmy Louis Howie Crowder was born March 21, 1956, in Union County, North Carolina to the late Junior Capious Crowder and Sarah Blount Crowder. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
Jimmy Louis joined Clarksville A. M. E. Zion Church at an early age.
Jimmy graduated from Parkwood High School, Monroe, North Carolina in 1974. He was employed at Harris Teeter Supermarket for numerous
years. Due to an unexpected illness, he began working as a newspaper carrier until his recent retirement to spend more time with family and
his vehicles.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Martha Jean of 28 years; his daughters, Syreeta Crowder Staton (David) of Wingate, NC; Cynthia Alexander of Monroe, NC; LaToya Lowrance of Spartanburg, SC; and sons Justin Crowder of the home; Roger Alexander (Kathleen) of Waxhaw, NC; mother-in-law Mamie Lowrance; also, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Julius McDonald; brother Lander Glenn Crowder (Frances Crowder) and brothers-in-law Norris Polk (Diane) and Hubert McDonald (Julius). He also leaves to mourn a loving sister, Diane C. Polk, Monroe, NC and one brother Carwell Crowder of Indian Trail, NC.
He also leaves to mourn special friends and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and family.
Jimmy was a supportive mentor, a loving father, and a loyal friend. He was passionate about restoring old vehicles and skilled at bringing new life to something old and rusty. He collected photos of family, vacations and special events that captured precious memories. He was a motorcycle enthusiast; he loved riding and attending Bike Shows. As we say our final goodbyes to Jimmy, remember the love, laughter, and lessons he brought into our lives, and find comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of all those who loved him.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, Spartanburg, SC.
