Obituary For Mr. Edom Leonard Ellis

Edom Leonard Ellis, 92, of Logoff, SC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at MUSC Camden, SC.

Born December 24, 1931, in Newport, Tennessee, he spent his childhood in Brookford, NC. His family moved to Fort Mill, SC, in the 1940s. He was a devoted family man who loved God and formerly attended Sisk Memorial Baptist Church in Fort Mill, SC, and Lamp Light Church in Charlotte, NC. He was a graduate of Fort Mill High School, class of 1950, and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, singing, and RC airplane construction. He was a nurturing mentor to his children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Fay Ellis, Angela Koumas (Mike), Elizabeth Hammond (Jeremy), Brandon Spradley (Sara), Trey Spradley (Ashley), Brook Koumas (Ahmed), Blair Koumas (Will), Gage Koumas (Lanie), Tanner and Macie Hammond.

He is also survived by his sons Phillip Ellis (Lynn) Harriman, TN, Keith Ellis (Connie) Fort Mill, SC, and Chris Ellis (Julie) Lancaster, SC; his sister, Virginia Broome (Bluffton, SC) and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Carol McCraven Ellis (Fort Mill, SC); son, Brian Ellis, Sr. (Smyrna, SC); parents, Quince Ellis, and Hattie Williams Ellis (Fort Mill, SC); brothers, JL Ellis (Forest City, NC), Melvin Ellis (Kingston, TN), and Quincey Ellis (Heath Springs, SC); sisters, Kardelia Ramarez (Austin, TX), and Cloye Romo (Flugerville, TX).

Receiving of friends will be at Glenrock Baptist Church, 1815 North Dobys Bridge Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715, at 1 pm Saturday, February 3, 2024, followed by a memorial service at 2 pm.
