Obituary For Irene “Puddin” Elizabeth Scales

Irene “Puddin” Elizabeth Scales, 89, of Madison, NC passed, Monday, January 29, 2024. Public viewing will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home Madison, NC. Graveside service will be held at 12 Noon Friday, February 2, 2024 in Moore’s-Lowes’s Cemetery located on Bald Hill Loop Rd, Madison, NC.

Perry Spencer Funeral Homes require Face Mask be worn when entering our facility.

Irene Elizabeth Scales, known to her many friends and family as “Puddin” was born in Rockingham County on February 21, 1934 to the late Jack and Thelma Scalews. She departed this life on January 29, 2024 at Annie Penn Hospital, Reidsville, North Carolina.

Irene retired from Unifi Industry of Madison, NC after many years of service. She was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church, Madison, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Johnanita Scales, Peggy Dalton, Alma Joyner and Mattie Scales.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one sister; Jackie Cardwell (John), sister-in-law; Roselle Dalton and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

I met Irene at Jacobs Creek Nursing Home in Madison NC. She was a resident there and I was a volunteer helping with Bingo and other activities. Irene was an easy person to talk to and became a friend to us. So sorry for your loss. Doneen and Noreen Key
