Obituary For Mr. James Edward "Scooter" McLain

James Edward McLain was born on December 10, 1987 and peacefully departed from this life at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center, Charlotte, NC on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward McLain Sr. and grandmother, Ms. Mary Frances Hubbard.

He leaves to cherish his memories his Mother, Mary Ann Hubbard, Sister, Kathy Hubbard; two Aunts, Katherine Hubbard and Daisy Hubbard; a Great Aunt, Margaret Little (Lonnie) and Great Uncle, Deacon Sandy Hubbard.

He also leaves to cherish his memories, a Special Devoted God-Mother, Evangelist Peggy Hubbard, a host of cousins, West Rocky Ford Church family and friends.

James was a graduate of Anson Senior High School, Class of 2006.

He confessed Jesus Christ as his Savior, baptized and joined West Rocky Ford Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an Usher and Lead singer on the Young Adult Choir. He was a Mime and Praise Dancer.

James was employed at McDonald’s in Wadesboro, NC for several years before he became disabled due to kidney failure. James remained on dialysis for 15 years.

James was humble and respectful in spirit. He would help out in the home doing what he was able to do. He would always be the first one to speak early in the morning to his family members. He loved his family and would always tell them they looked good when he saw them dressed up. He was a quiet and shy natured person. He didn’t bother anyone and would tend to his own business. If he did anyone wrong he would humbly apologize. James had love in his heart for everyone. He will be missed greatly.

He had many gifts and talents which included a love for art. He could take a sheet of paper and design an object. He also loved to cook and making different types of menu items. We love him but we know that God loves him most. We shall meet again.

The Homegoing Services will be on Friday, February 2, 2024, 2:00pm. West Rocky Ford Baptist Church, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the church cemetery.

The McLain Family will greet family and friends on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 1:30-2:00pm at West Rocky Ford Baptist Church.
