Kevin was a man who never met a stranger. Most will remember him for his infectious laugh and silly jokes. Behind the laughter, was a man who served in many capacities. Kevin Riddick was a member of the United States Air Force for 20 years, followed by a second career in law enforcement at Hamilton Correctional Facility in Jasper, Florida. Kevin also served his community. In his role as Vice Chair of Membership for Lowndes County Democratic Party, Kevin pounded the pavement, registering citizens to vote and informing them of their rights. He was an advocate for change and diligently fought for the rights of Black Americans in his community. His love for the community was unmatched by his love and devotion to God and his family. He showed love to others as God shows his love to us. He never judged or had a harsh word to say. Reverend Kevin Riddick was a man of wisdom and sound advice, reminding people to keep the faith and hold on to God’s promises. He was a friend to many because of his pure heart and love for people.

Riddick became not only our pastor at Greater Macedonia but, a family member and a staple of the Alapaha community. He was an active participant in local community churches, events and gatherings. His jovial demeanor, willingness to serve and his devoutly religious commitment will be greatly missed. Yet, as he would often say..."To GOD Be the Glory"! Rest in Peace Sir. I was fortunate enough to meet him in 2019 during our family vacation in Panama. He was so much fun and so talented! We both shared the love of acting and poetry. He even did a skit for the family which I RECORDED! The last time we spoke was on a Zoom family call where I could see him also. I will cherish the few memories I have of him. Thank God I got to meet him before he was called home. Rest in peace cousin. With Love from Cynthia

I worked with Kevin as a volunteer during elections. He was such a lover of family and a jokester. Kevin was a warm and inviting soul. He was passionate about voters rights and loved the Lord. May comfort and peace surround the family during this time and always.

We meet for the first time in Panamá at our family reunion, little did I know God's plans for us. We meet, we clicked,we got close in a few days. I thank God for bringing us together. We was a God fearing man and I will miss him very much. I know we will meet again in heaven around God's throne worshipping him and thanking him throughout eternity. RIP cousin until we meet again. Our family is stronger because of you.🙏🏾🫶🏾

I am so sorry for your loss. His death took a toll out of all of our lives. He was a loving and compassionate man. Everyone that knew him loved him. We had prayer service on Tuesday nights online. His prayers helped a lot of us in our prayer group to pray for others. One of the reasons the prayer group was formed was because I became ill and was on a heart monitor. Shortly after, he got Covid. We decided as ministers that we wanted to organize a group (George Jackson started it) where we prayed together weekly. We have all been so close for so many years. I will miss you my friend. Ida M Freeman (Member of the CREW..George Jackson, Robert Haywood, and Kevin Ridddick). May you find your eternal home in paradise my dear friend.
