Addie Perteet was born on July 20, 1955, to the late Henry and Georgia Mitchell. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Durant Missionary Baptist Church. The Angels that preceded before her in death were her parents, uncles, aunts, and three brothers.
Addie attended public school in Durant.
Later in life, on April 4, 1974, she married Tyrone Leonard Perteet with whom she would have been married for 50 years through thick and thin.
Addie was a hard worker. She spent most of her time in the work field of dietary. Her career spans across University Electric, Kosciusko School District, Sunflower Deli, a cook at the VA, only to name a few, while being a wife, mother and homemaker.
Addie had a zeal for life. She loved her family and friends wholeheartedly. In her spare time, Addie liked to sew, make quilts, and baking (especially those tea cakes). She enjoyed fishing. She enjoyed planting flowers all over her yard and also potted plants. She always encouraged her children to do their best so that they would be self-sufficient which included: cooking, sewing, laundry, doing dishes, reading, writing, math, and occasionally hot-combing and rolling her and so many things in between. Addie leaves to celebrate and cherish her memories, her devoted husband, Tyrone Leonard Perteet, Sr.; one loving daughter, Haley Perteet of Kosciusko, MS; five loving sons: Reggie O. Mitchell of Leakesville, MS; Tyrone L. Perteet, Jr., Pearl, MS; Troy T. Perteet (Alicia) of Kosciusko, MS; Cooliage T. Perteet of Tupelo, MS Corey S.
