A celebration of life for Mrs. Carolyn Garrett Twyman, 76, of Talladega will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Reverend Percy Welch will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be in Midway Memory Gardens. Visitation for Mrs. Twyman will be from 1-7 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carolyn Garrett Twyman was born in Talladega, Alabama on November 4, 1947, to the late Mr. And Mrs. Samuel and Solonia Garrett. Mrs. Twyman was nurtured and grew in the Lord. At an early age, Carolyn confessed and accepted Christ as her Savior at Belview Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Twyman graduated from R. R. Moton High School in 1967. She obtained an associate degree from Gadsden State Community College in 1970. Carolyn married Mr. Bossie Twyman, also of Talladega, Alabama in 1970. Their marriage blessed them with three daughters and two sons. Mrs. Twyman traveled much of the world as the wife of a highly decorated soldier who served his country in the Vietnam War. She retired from Gadsden State Community College after 15 years of service. A devout Christian, Carolyn’s hobbies included sewing, taking care of her family and floriculture.
Mrs. Carolyn Garrett Twyman…a virtuous woman whose worth is far more than rubies. (Proverbs 31:10) This verse describes the child of God who met her Savior at an early age. She was a living example of God’s word in her walk of life. Carolyn emulated a flower in all of its radiance and splendor illuminating during the dark and cloudy days.
Mrs. Twyman fought a good fight, finished her course, and entered her eternal rest on January 21, 2024, where she was greeted by her parents, Samuel Garrett and Solonia Garrett; her sister, Catherine Garrett; her brother, A.C. Jones; and so many more she knew and loved.
Carolyn leaves so many loving memories and imprints on the hearts of those close to her: a devoted and loving husband, Mr. Bossie Twyman of Talladega, AL; daughters, Pamela Evans of Sylacauga, AL, Felicia (Eric) Sherman of El Paso, TX and Angela Waites of Huntsville, AL; sons, Christopher (Shelli) Garrett of Atlanta, GA and De’Shawn (Cenetta) Twyman of Talladega, AL; a brother, Samuel (Elaine) Garrett of Toledo, OH; brothers-in-law, Isaac (Emily) Twyman of Virginia Beach, VA and James Jackson of OH; granddaughters, Kiara Twyman, Nakita Evans, Brittany Brown and Tylar Twyman; grandsons, Jalen Waites, Kenneth Wallace, Rodriquez Garrett, Devonte Sherman and Torry Twyman; five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Carolyn was always so sweet and caring. May God comfort your family during this time.
