Judy Ann Hayes was born on March 10, 1950 in Crawfordsville, GA., to the late Mr. Clearence Hayes Sr. and Brida May Collins. She departed this life on January 18, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Judy was employed by Dekalb County School System Transportation Department as a Special Education Bus Driver. She retired after 16 successful years in 2006 and relocated to Augusta, Georgia.
She was affectionally known as Ms. Judy or Momma Judy by many. She was a devoted mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend. Ms. Judy was a talented fisherman as well as cook. She had a kind and loving heart, always willing to lend a hand and spent many hours cooking and feeding family and friends. Everyone who took the time to know Momma Judy loved her and knew she was absolutely one-of-a-kind.
Ms. Judy was a faithful member of Destiny Worship Center Ministry in Augusta, GA.
She was proceeded in death by A son Anthony L. Hayes, siblings Sabra Farley, Mary Davis, Annie Smalls, and Jamie Hayes.
Judy leaves to cherish her memory 4 children; Fredrick Hayes, Darius Hayes, DeAnthony Hayes, and Kamariah Harris; three sisters, Brenda Grady, Betty Jo Garrett, and Clarice Simmons; two brothers, John W. Hayes, Clerance Hayes Jr. and one uncle, William T. Harper. Along with her life partner Mr. John Stroman (affectionally known as “Boo”). Ms. Judy leaves loving memories for her seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and sorrowing friends.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Friday, the 26th at Destiny Worship Center, 2323 Peach Orchard Road. Interment, Mount Olive Memorial Gardens, 3666 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah. Public viewing from 2 pm to 6 pm, at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858
