On January 8, 2024, our Heavenly Father called our beloved mother, GAIL NOIRENE HENDRICK, also named by the family, “Norene,” was called home and rewarded her with angel wings. It was a sudden sadness, but we know God does not make mistakes, marking the end of a life defined by love, faith, and unwavering dedication to family and community.

Gail’s journey began on August 4, 1950, as the eldest of seven children born to Leola Anderson and she carried with her a deep connection to her family’s roots.

Gail gave her life to God at an early age. She was a member of Bethel Memorial RZUA Church, LaCrosse, VA.

She was a 1968 graduate of Central High School, Sussex, VA. She later graduated from Greensville Memorial Hospital Nursing Program as a LPN. In 1983, Gail pursued her nursing career and graduated from Vance-Granville Community College as a Registered Nurse. She was an ICU/Dialysis nurse for twenty-eight years at Community Memorial Hospital. She later became a Nursing Supervisor for Heritage Hall, Blackstone, VA until her retirement.

In August of 1999, Gail found love and companionship in the late Rev. H.L. Hendrick and together they shared their lives, faith, and love for each other.

Over the years Gail’s spiritual devotion led her to serve as a Deaconess at Salem Union RZUA Church, Gasburg, VA, where she shared her unwavering faith with her community.

Gail’s love extended far beyond her profession and into her family. She had an extraordinary bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment.

Gail leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness and love: her daughter- Audrey (Tyrone) Garnes and her sons- Michael (Kristi) Doby and Derik (Kim) Walker; her grandchildren- Deanna (Ryan), Allison, DeVante, and her great-grandchildren- RaMya, Ariah, Ryan, Jr., and Ramir; will forever hold her in their hearts. Also surviving are her siblings- Vanessa (Sam) Rivers, Barbara Anderson and Wayne (Denise) Walker; aunt- Thelma Mabry; uncles- Jean Doby, Larry Doby, and Melvin Doby, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gail Noirene Hendrick’s legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will continue inspiring those fortunate to know her.
