Jr Dr SW Atlanta, GA 30314. Intermet will be at Southview Cemetery 1990 Jonesboro Road SE Atlanta, GA 30315. Viewing will be Thursday, January 25, 2024 12 noon-6:00 pm at Grissom-Clark Funeral Home. 404-373-3191 .Mr. Abe Bernard (Redman) Upshaw was born on December 10, 1968, to Vinnie Upshaw in Atlanta, Georgia. He made his transition on January 17, 2024, with his mother at his bedside. Mr. Abe grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. He was educated in Atlanta public school system, and he went on to further his education at DeVry University. He joined Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age. Abe was a pro at construction; he could do anything when it came to building. He specialized in home remodeling and new building construction. One of his proud accomplishments is building the track at Sylvan Middle School. He was also a mechanic with many more skills; what we would call “a jack of all trades”. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Daisy Groom; aunt, Willie Bell Upshaw; and uncles, Joelet Upshaw and Wille Joe Sanders. He leaves to cherish his memory: his very devoted mother, Mrs. Vinnie Upshaw; daughter, Alexis (Demarcus) Upshaw-Carter; three beautiful grandchildren, Macarrio Carter, Harmoni Carter, and Demarcus Wilson; step-granddaughter, Aryonne Genaelink; aunts, Recie Sanders, Lillie (Stanley) Powell, and Villie Payne; uncle, Joseph Groom; great-aunt, Ella Haynes of Haine City, FL; great-uncle, Walter Tarver of Miami, FL; special friend, Lavonne Turner; and a host of special cousins, relatives, and friends
