Gerald Davis also known as “Dean” was born on July 7th, 1954 to Louise Simmons and the late Leroy Davis in Pavo, Georgia. Gerald entered into eternal rest on December 19th, 2023 in Pavo, Georgia.
Gerald was raised in Pavo, Georgia by his grandparents the late Earl “Buddie” Kerbo and Frances “Jean” Kerbo. He was a graduate of Thomas County Central High School “Yellow Jackets” Class of 1974 located in Thomasville, Georgia. He was passionate about sports. During his high school years, he was an “outstanding” team player. He played on the basketball, football and track and field team. Gerald continued his education at Paine College “Lion” in Augusta, Georgia graduating in 1978 receiving a bachelor degree in Accountant. Furthering his education at Everglades University in Boca Raton, Fl in 2008 Gerald received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management.
Gerald was a man of great diligence. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to him. He lived in Martin and Palm Beach County, Florida, for a considerable amount of time. He loved and appreciated his boss “Matt” and enjoyed working for him as a pipe layer supervisor in Stuart, Florida. Due to health issues, Gerald moved back to Georgia in May, 2008. He returned back to his childhood church Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he accepted the Lord as his personal savior.
Gerald loved his family and friends. His caring, and loving heart left a beacon of light for all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving mother Louise Simmons; son and daughters Gerald Maurice Davis (CeCe), Lonisha Hadley (Lonnie), Natavia Woods (Tyrone); grandchildren Lanyjha “Naenae” Lewis, Keke, Imani, Jordan, Gerlae, and Nyzuri Davis, Kelvin Graham, Takyria Hadley, Keyana Flounoy, and Trevon Tyler; great grandchildren Kaitlyn Graham, Kelvin Graham Jr., Kelsey Graham; brothers and sisters, Karen Hobbs (Anthony), Linda Davis, Sandra Mitchell (Robert), Greg Davis (Diane), Angela Davis, Tim Davis (Jammie), Kalvin Davis, Ronnie Neal, Angela Hestor (Greg), Tyrone Davis and special friend Ernestine Mcburrow; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other sorrowing relatives and friends. Gerald cheerful attitude will be missed.
Funeral services were Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church in Pavo, Georgia with Pastor Shelly officiating. Burial followed at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Pavo.
