Obituary For Mary Roller

Mary Margaret Giles Roller, 85, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend- went to forever be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 4th, at her home in Bryan, Texas with her family by her side.

There will be a small graveside gathering at the Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg, Texas on Thursday, January 11th, at 2:00pm. A memorial service will take place at Bethel Baptist Church in Grapevine, TXon Friday, January 12th, at 10:00am.

Mary was born on March 29, 1938, in Mountain Grove, Missouri to Oscar Mitchell and Margaret Lee Giles. Most of her youth was spent in Pueblo, Colorado. Following high school, she married Alan Roller on November 15, 1958. They spent most of their adult lives in Grapevine, Texas where they raised their children and faithfully served in their local church.

Throughout her time in Grapevine, she worked downtown on Main Street as a merchant and antique dealer. Always true to her family, she remained a devoted spouse until Alan’s passing in 2001. Following his passing, she could either be found at her store on Main Street, the baseball fields in Keller watching her grandson, or countless number of theatre and music events watching her granddaughter!

She was an avid reader, dog lover, antique enthusiast, and loyal fan of both the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. She had a huge heart for missions and a passion for the underserved. She will be remembered as a loyal friend to her many neighbors, colleagues, and customers; as well as a loving mom to her children, devoted grandma to her grandchildren, and caring “surrogate” mom/grandma to many others.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alan and son Dean.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Marcie Stanley and her husband Don of Bryan, TX; her grandchildren, Scott Ferguson and his wife Kelly of Trophy Club, TX, Alaina Stanley of Bryan, TX; and her great-grandchildren, Levi and Emmylou Ferguson.

Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX.

Guest Book

Marcie, My deepest sympathies for the loss of your dear mother. Mary was my closest cousin growing up in a huge family. She and I talked together often, traveled together periodically, and shared as much as we could about the Perryman family. She was my source of not only information but pleasure and comfort. I treasured our friendship and I will miss her dearly. Bless you and your family at this time. Chanda Gray

Marcie I was so saddened to find out that your Mom passed away. I've been passing on the message to everyone who I could think of that knew your Mom from Mainstreet Antiques. She will be sorely missed by quite a few people. We all remember her as such a sweet and kind person . Colleen Carter
