Obituary For Hylton D. Hairston

On Sunday, December 31, 2023, Hylton D. Hairston, 84, of Martinsville, VA, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest at Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, VA. Born in Virginia February 21, 1939, to Riley Hairston, and Peggy Hylton Hairston.

In addition to his parents, Hylton was preceded in death by two daughters, Constance Irby, and Angela Hairston, and one brother, Jill Hairston.

Hylton retired from Stanley Furniture Company after many years of service.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Sharon Hairston of Newark, NJ; son-in-law, Darryl Irby, Sr. of Chesterfield, VA; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA with Elder Earnest Long, Eulogist. The burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 2256 Carver Rd., Martinsville, VA. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
