Public viewing will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC from 1:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2023 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Mary D. Perry Memorial Chapel in Madison, NC. Interment will follow in the Hairston Cemetery, Eden, NC.
Michael Anthony Carter, 52, of Reidsville, NC passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in Danville, VA. He was born on November 15, 1971 to Shirley Carter and the late James Otis Carter.
Michael was a vibrant soul who brought joy to everyone around him. With an infectious smile, he approached life with humor, creating laughter wherever he went. Devoted to family, he cherished moments with his loved ones, especially his mother, delighting in shopping trips and shared meals. A dedicated and hardworking individual, he took pride in his job, always impeccably dressed and leaving a lasting impression. His love for children and grandchildren shone through, making every moment with them special. Michael will be remembered as a well-put-together man who brought warmth and happiness to thise fortunate enough to know him. May his spirit of joy and love live on in our hearts.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Carter.
Left to cherish precious memories are: his children, Anthony “Jamar” Carter, Tyreisha Carter, Jessica Carter, Marhonda Carter, Michael Carter, Jr. and Mi'Kal Carter, grandchildren; Anthony Carter, Jr., Kamaria Carter, Aleksis Carter, Jazzlyn Carter, Brandon Turner, Jr., Ashton Jones, Brae'lon Carter, Oassiah McCollum, Malani Thomspon, Ameila Carter and Mi'Kal Carter, Jr. siblings; James “Clarence” Carter (Maxine), Edith Parker (Garland) and Phillip Carter, nieces and nephews; James Winchester, Lance Winchester, Latwand Winchester, Tasha Parker, Trey Carter and a host of cousins, other relatives and special friends.
