I am so saddened to have stumbled on this obituary after searching for a college friend. Ms. Jefferson was a quiet, nurturing, and motivating regal mother to so many in Jackson Ward (Gilpin Court) community. She commanded respect by walking into a room not just as a mother, but as a person. She's one of the last moms that wasn't to be played with at all. (My sister and I were just talking about her late daughter, Rainy, who took care of our mother at the Richmond Nursing Home.) I would like to send my sincere prayers and condolences to all of her children especially Carol and Jerome. May you all continue to honor her wonderful and beautiful legacy. Robert W.
