Dana Del-Roy Bell was born on February 18, 1965, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida to Sam Robert Bell, Jr. and Eleanor Rose Bostick.
He graduated from Largo High School, Class of 1983, where he played football, wrestled and was a member of the track and field team. Dana served in the United States Marine Corp for 14 years, where he attained the rank of Corporal and became a Commissioned Officer. He was a Marksmanship Instructor and received numerous honors, which included, Rifle Expert Badge, Meritorious Master, National Defense Service Medal and Southwest Asia Service Medal. Dana was a proud veteran who loved and supported his fellow veterans. He was employed as a chef for several years, before becoming a Logistics Technician. He excelled at cooking and loved being with family and friends. Dana was a Christian.
Dana Del-Roy Bell departed this life on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in Clearwater, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his fathers, Sam Robert Bell, Jr. and Sherman Bostick, mother, Eleanor Rose Bostick, brothers, Sam Robert Bell, III, Darryl Bell and Lewis Johnson, sister, Twila Ann Jones, grandparents, Annie B. Mills, Luther Mills, Sam Bell, Mary Bell, George Bostick and Bernice Bostick, brothers-in-law, Dennis Works and Ruffers Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memories…his wife of 16 years: Zora Marie Bell; son: Christopher Zumalt, Jr.; daughters: Atavia S. Johnson and Rashawna D. Balkman; brothers: Luther D. Bell (Alice), Kelvin L. Bostick (Connie) and Therion D. Bostick, Sr.; sisters: Katecia Brown, Felicia Works, Alfreda Jones (Gary), Dieldra Gardner (Johnny) and Vonnaridee Keese; grandchildren: LaNessah Green, Shayla Balkman, Sanaai Balkman, LaTyannah Johnson and Kenneth Balkman; mother-in-law: Carlotta Lewis; brothers-in-law: Marcus Turner, Anthony Lewis (Erin) and Andre' Lewis; goddaughters: Ah'Laya Martinez and Ah'Riyah Martinez; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.
Visitation: Saturday, December 16, 2023, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Smith Young Smith Funeral Chapel, 1005 Howard Street, Clearwater, Florida 33755.
Celebration of Life Service: Sunday, December 17, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 13255 118th Street North, Largo, Florida 33778, Reverend Edward “Bebe” Hobson, Pastor.
