Obituary For Linda Sue Forson

Linda Sue Forson, age 81 of Newport TX, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Linda was born October 28, 1942 in Fort Worth, TX to James Darrell and Annie Lee Mills. She married the love of her life and soul-mate, Pat Forson in 1961. They spent 62 years together, always declaring that they never wanted to be without the other. Mom passed away four weeks after Daddy.

Linda received her nursing degree in 1968. While earning her degree, and beginning her career as an LVN, she and Pat were also busy raising two little girls.

Linda was passionate about bowling and bowled in leagues for many years. At one point, she was offered a sponsorship to bowl professionally but chose instead to have a third little girl.

She and Pat moved their family to Newport in 1972. They started the Forson’s Forty Farm where they worked hard and lived happily for 51 years.

Linda continued to work in the home health industry for several years but decided staying at home and being a loving mom and devoted wife was more important.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newport for over 30 years, where she sang in the choir and enjoyed handing out candy to the kids. She was often referred to as the “candy lady” which made her smile.

Linda enjoyed many hobbies; gardening and canning, sewing, baking, playing games and watching movies. She loved to read and work jigsaw puzzles. She even started bowling again in Wichita Falls for a few years after moving to Newport. She and Pat went on many camping trips throughout the years, and she took so much delight in those trips. But there was always one thing that made her happier than anything and above all else – Babies!

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Pat Forson and her parents, James Darrell and Annie Lee Mills.

Linda is survived by her brother, Jimmy Mills; her three daughters, Tammy Vaughn and husband Rob, Terry Forson-Hyde and husband Jimmy, and Tracy Blackburn and husband Ray; grandchildren, Karli Forson and husband James, Kabrina Cox, Randall Blackburn and wife Jenna, Kalan Robinson and wife Courtney, Shon Vaughn and Danielle, Erin Flath and husband Brent, Nick Vaughn, Colin Blackburn and Marissa, Chad Hyde and wife Hillary, Kaitlin Coble and husband Brent, and Braxton Hyde. She had thirteen great grandchildren that she adored.

Memorial Service to be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX.
