DEACON MONROE JAMES DIXON, SR. - Age 77, of Ringgold, Georgia and formerly of LaFayette, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He was born June 6, 1946 to his late parents, Cornelius M. Dixon and Dorothy Shoemaker Dixon and was preceded in death by his sister, Ethel Louvenia D. McNeal; three brothers, Joe Dixon, Doug Dixon, Aaron Dixon and aunt, Katherine Elizabeth Shoemaker Stevenson. He was a United States Army Veteran, Deacon of New Bethel Fellowship Church and retired from Roper Corporation.
He is survived by his two daughters, Langela (Dwight) Marsh, Francine (Jeff) Evans; two sons, Monroe James Dixon, Barry Lynn Dixon; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren; three sisters, Viola Wiggins, Dorothy Mae Dixon, Virginia Dixon; brother, David Dixon; ex-wives and mother of his children, Clara Dixon, and Sandra Blair; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. from the New Bethel Christian Fellowship Church, 4009 Round Pond Rd., LaFayette, GA. 30728 with Pastor Ken Carson and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church one hour before the service. Interment, Chattanooga National Cemetery Thursday, December 28, 2023.
