Mr. Elijah Carmichael Bennett was born on March 9, 1975 in Wadesboro, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life at the age of 48 and transitioned to his Heavenly Home on December 12, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Elijah was affectionally known to many as “Mike”, a nickname that his mother gave him.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Galilee AME Zion Church in McFarland, North Carolina.
Elijah attended Anson County Public Schools and graduated from Anson Senior High School in 1994.
Elijah worked for Preston Short Farms as a technician for over 20 years.
Elijah was a devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend to everyone he knew. He would truly go out of his way to help you.
Elijah was preceded in death by his mother, Carnetha Bennett.
Elijah leaves to cherish his memories to his father, Elijah Gaddy (Rosa) of Wadesboro, North Carolina; three sisters, Brenita Tillman (Stevie), Tonya Maxwell and Makeeyla Maxwell all of Wadesboro, North Carolina; one brother, Eli Maxwell of Wadesboro, North Carolina. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special friend, Mary “Trudy” Lindsey.
The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, December 17, 2023, 2:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the Galilee AME Zion Church Cemetery, Morven, North Carolina.
The Family will greet family and friends on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 1:30-2:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel.
