Marshayla “Shay” Walker , 34, of Phenix City, AL passed on Monday, November 27, 2023 in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 am EST, Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, Columbus, GA with Rev. Marc A. Walker, Sr., pastor; Rev. Bobby Rutledge, eulogist and Rev. Artis Stringer, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Columbus, GA. Visitation will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 from 3 - 5 pm EST.

Marshayla “Shay” Walker was born May 6, 1989, in Columbus, Georgia to Rev. Marc A. Walker Sr. and Sis. Vickie D. Walker.

She graduated from Central High School and continued her education at Chattahoochee Valley Community College obtaining an Associate Degree in Science. Shay recently received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Troy University.

Shay was a member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church of Columbus, Georgia. She was a faithful servant and was always willing to give her time. She was a loving mother, daughter, God mother, sister, and friend. She was a kind, free-hearted spirit. It was always a joy to be in her presence. Shay’s smile would light up any room she walked in, and she never met a stranger.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving son, Rayson Jeremiah Walker; parents, Rev. Marc A. Walker Sr. and Vickie Walker of Phenix City, AL; four brothers, James A. Morris Jr. (Takela), of Smith Station, AL, Terrell Murray (Sheena) of Florida, Marc Walker Jr. (Kayla) of Columbus, GA, Marquez Walker (Shantaye) of Columbus, GA; a sister, KeyKey Crabbe (Renee) of Maryland and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Shayla appreciated what her father taught her; Working like it all depends on her and praying like it all depends on God.
