Mary Estella Greene Callaway was born May 17, 1939, in Greensboro, GA to the late Johnny and Eutha Greene. She was preceded in death by her late husband Clinton Callaway, a daughter Anna Mary, her parents Johnny and Eutha Greene; brothers: Sidney Greene and Moses Greene and James "MeMe" Greene , sisters: Johnnie Mae Martin, Polly Rankins, Clara Nell Lawrence, Elease Greene and Eloise Binion.
She leaves to cherish three children, Suzender Benn Oriyino (Mcmon Oris), Rodney Lumpkin (Tammy "Bam”) and John Lumpkin (April). Mary also leaves to cherish a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly and referred to her as “Grandma Mary”. She was always ready to cook for the family and never turned down their visits to her. One of her favorite things to tell her family was- “You look good.”
She loved to tell stories about her childhood and time spent working in Atlanta at Jacob’s Pharmacy. Much of her time was spent reading her bible or playing her piano when she could. Her family will always remember her laugh, her smile, how she would mimic people almost perfectly. Among the many things she loved were flowers and turnips.
She will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her.
