On Sunday, November 19, 2023, Shelia Diane Hargrove entered eternal rest at the age of 71. She was born on December 29, 1951 in Halifax, Virginia to the late Eugene and Alfreda Watkins of Buffalo Junction, Virginia. Shelia, better known as “Diane” to everyone who knew her, was a graduate of Bluestone High School Class of 1971. She also attended West End High School and was inducted into the Hall of Fame for track. After graduation she became employed at Russell Stover Candies, where she stayed for 30 plus years before she retired. Shelia was a member of the Mecklenburg Social Club and the Baskerville Country Club. She was also an active member at St. Mark Baptist Church.
While working towards her high school diploma, she married Nathaniel Thomas Hargrove in 1970,where they were married for 28 years. From that union, one son, Brian Keith Hargrove and onedaughter, Krystle Diane Foster, were born.
Among her favorite pastimes, Diane loved doing puzzles, watching Western TV shows and helping people when she could. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids and great grandson.
She is survived by one son, Brian Hargrove of Chase City, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Holly Hargrove of Chase City, Virginia; daughter, Krystle Foster of Louisburg, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Tyiesha Goode of Keysville, Virginia and Melanie Foster of Louisburg, North Carolina; one great grandson, Zayden Baltazar of Louisburg, North Carolina; her brother, Mario Darrell Davis of Emporia, Virginia; four step grandsons; and a special friend of the family.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Alfreda Mae Watkins and her father Eugene Conway Watkins.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Shelia Diane Hargrove will be held on St. Mark Baptist Church on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 1:00PM with the Reverend Darryl T. Howard, Sr. eulogist.
