Obituary For Ms. Schwanda “BOOM” Latrese Brown-Colbert

Ms. Schwanda Latrese Brown Colbert was born on May 22, 1976 to the late Ms. Cathy Sue Brown and Mr. Milve Colbert in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. She attended R.E. Lee High School. At an early age, she joined the Saint Mary AME Church. She enjoyed working in the Young People Department.

During her early years of adulthood, she was employed by the Thomaston-Upson County School Board as a Para Pro.

During her leisure time, she enjoyed taking care of children, singing, relationship guru and spending time with her family and friends' She loved her family dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother; grandparents, Mr. Joe Brown, Mrs. Mattie Brown, Mr. Johnnie Colbert and Mrs. Mattie Colbert; one aunt, Willie Lee Holliman; one uncle George I. Drake. On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, the Lord whispered her name to come and rest. She departed this life of sickness, sorrow and pain and went home to be with the Lord. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Mr. Milve (Shelia) Colbert of Thomaston, GA; two sisters, Mrs. Yolanda (Artalious) Colbert-Sneed of McDonough, GA and Ms. Nikki Brown of Thomaston, GA; two brothers, Mr. Hansen Colbert of Thomaston, GA and Mr. Jacorrie (Jessica) Colbert of McDonough, GA; a friend who was more like a sister, Schlanda Gotell of Lagrange GA; aunts and uncles include, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Smith, Mr. Dennis Colbert, Ms. Priscilla Colbert, and Mrs. Lynette (Alan) Montgomery all of Thomaston, GA, Mr. Dennis (Ann) Brown and Mrs. Phyllis Loving both of Griffin, GA, Ms. Jonita Brown of McDonough, GA, and Mrs. Deborah (Alfred) Trice of Rex Mrs: Will Lee ta or Thomaston, and Mrs. Pearley of the Salem Community; nieces, Regan Colbert and Raiha Colbert; nephews, Ziquan Brown, Alon Colbert, Siya Myles and Grayson Colbert; special nephews, Koen Stinson and Dinasis Walker; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
