Obituary For William Leroy Bullock

William Leroy Bullock Jr. was born in McComb, MS to Willie Bullock and Ethel Allen on May 29, 1937. He was the second of eight children.

William and his family moved to Chicago, IL in 1940. Eventually, he attended Tilden Technical High School where he studied drafting. After high school, William joined the army where he served for a number of years. He was honorably discharged and went on to work at the main Chicago Post Office for many years. He also worked briefly as a recruiter, in insurance sales, and as a computer specialist for a variety of companies, including IBM.

In 1967, William married Nettie Jean Carr. Their only child, Natalie Racquel, was born in 1969.

William became a christian at an early age. He joined the Church of Christ in 1972 and continued his membership at various congregations until he could no longer attend services.

William loved his family and showed concern and care for strangers and friends alike. He delighted in his grandchildren, EJ and Mimi, with whom he loved to play games when they were youngsters, and talk to by phone.

William leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his daughter, Natalie Bullock Brown (Eric); his surviving siblings Leora Riley, Kenneth Lasley (Marian), and Linda Lasley; his grandchildren Eric Brown II and McKinley Brown; as well as an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, church acquaintances, and neighbors.

May William’s life and memory be a blessing to all those who knew and loved him. And may we rejoice in knowing that he is with God.
