On Sunday, October 29, 2023, Robert A. Williams 74, of Salmon St., Martinsville transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. He was born in Martinsville, VA on October 29, 1949, the son of James D. Williams, and Matilda Swanson Williams who preceded him in death.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma V. Williams, and Marion A. Whitaker, and six brothers, David E. Williams, Frederick D. Williams, Thomas N. βNayβ Williams, Samuel A. Williams, Curtis E. Williams, and James C. Williams.
Robert was a graduate of Albert Harris High School, and he was a disabled United States Army veteran.
Those left to cherish his memory include: one sister, Frances Marie Hailey of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at the Millner Family Cemetery, Ramey Hodge Dr., Martinsville, VA. A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
