Obituary For Brian Llmott Jackson, Sr.

Brian L. Jackson, Sr., 52, of Hastings, Florida transitioned from this earthly life on October 26, 2023. Brian Llmott Jackson, Sr. was born on June 16, 1971, to Eunice Jackson and the late Edward Allen Alston in Huntington, New York. Brian attended St. Augustine High School where he met Shirley Ann Verdell. Brian and Shirley were high school sweethearts, and later joined in holy matrimony on September 3, 1991. After high school, Brian honorably served in the Florida National Guard where he faithfully demonstrated his commitment to his country. After serving in the military, he was employed by Progress Rail in Green Cove Springs, Florida where he was promoted to Advanced Locomotive Repairman for the Florida East Coast Railway serving there for twelve years. In 2010, Mr. Jackson retired from Florida East Coast Railway and began his ministry by serving the community through “Sound is a Ministry.” He was an active contributor to local and national events sharing his gifts and talents with many organizations abroad. Brian and Shirley have been faithfully married for 32 years. As a result of this union, two beautiful children were born. Brian was an outstanding husband and father to his family, a role he held as top priority. Most of all, he was a man of God who faithfully served at Prophetic Worship Outreach Ministries in St. Augustine, Florida as a deacon and sound technician under the leadership of Apostle Tammy Reese and Overseer Deacon Gary Reese. Brian’s legacy will forever live in the hearts of the many lives he touched along his journey. He will forever be missed.

He was proceeded in eternal rest by his father, Edward Allen Alston, grandparents, Floyd and Hattie Jiggetts, Henry and Evelyn Jackson.

He leaves with cherished memories: his wife, Shirley Ann Jackson, his children, Bri’Shawanda M. Whitfield (Kelvin) St. Augustine; Brian L. Jackson Jr. (Nazandria) Gainesville; Joshua Moment, Rochester, New York; his granddaughter, Alani Moment, Rochester, New York; his mother, Eunice Jackson, Armstrong; his siblings, Valerie Jackson, Armstrong; Denise Warren Berryhill (Steve) St. Augustine; aunt, Evelyn Hall, Armstrong; uncle, Danny Jiggetts (Karen) Long Grove, Illinois; and his best friend, William Foster (Angie) of Orange Park, Florida.

The Jackson family will receive friends and the community 5-6 p.m., Friday, November 10, at the Lord's Temple Church. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 11, at the Lord's Temple. Interment will be held in Armstrong Cemetery.

I'm going to miss you this coming year. You never missed a year coming to New York to see me and my family. I don't know why God took my cousin away. 💔 But I will never question his reasons.
