TYLER--Funeral services for Mother Elsie Griffin, 86, is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 12 pm at Houston Temple COGIC with Bishop David R. Houston eulogist. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co.
Mrs. Griffin was born on May 5, 1937 in Smith County to the late John Moore and Mrilda Ward. She transitioned on October 20, 2023.
She was a graduated of Emmett J. Scott High School. She retired from Tyler Pipe Industry after twenty five plus years of service and member of Houston Temple Church of God in Christ where she served as secretary, member of the choir, sunday school teacher, pastor's aide committee, and member of the mother's board.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, one grandson and a host of siblings.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by two daughters: Deirdre Roberson and Torian Griffin both of Tyler, eight grandchildren and a host of great granchildren.
Public viewing will be on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Aunt Elsie, you will be greatly miss. Your brother, my dad, Pastor Delaware Moore, said that none of his siblings lived past the age of 68. Auntie you turned those numbers around and you reached 86. Rest in Heaven Auntie.
