For years she served as a faithful and later jointed New Hope Missionary Baptist church under the leadership of Rev. Marshall Magee where she served on the Mother’s Board till her health declined.

Sis. Lawson was united in holy matrimony to the Late Bro. Henry Lawson, Jr. on June 18, 1957. To this union, five children were born.

To the Loretta and the Lawson family, I send my deepest condolences during this time to you all. I come to know and love Sis. Lawson during my 9 years thus far, at New Hope (Hamilton Street). She was so wismatic, loving and Christian Mother of our church, before her inability to serve physically as she once did. I will miss her. A momento, that I will keep till it falls apart is, a lovely royal-bluish, scarf, she made for me and gave it to me to wear, on My first, New Hope Choir Day Musical! She was a fluent magnificent seamstress....thank you for my scarf .....I shall cherish a part of your craft for a l o n g time. May God bless comfort and keep you all, in Jesus name. AMEN. loving memories, from Sis. Mary Holden, New Hope MB Church Member🙏
