Obituary For Felix Edwards

OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Felix Edwards, 95, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA.

Fr. Justin Arockiasamy, S.V.D. will be officiating the funeral mass.

Mr. Edwards’ memories are being cherished by: his four sons, Joshua Edwards, Sr., Terry Edwards and Lionel Edwards, all of Opelousas, LA and Frederick (Linda) Edwards, Sr. of Lake Charles, LA; four daughters, Barbara Ann Green (Clyde, Sr.) and Lessie Mae Edwards, both of Opelousas, LA, Barbara Mae Richard of Beaumont, TX and Mary Edwards-Ivory of Jennings, LA; three sisters, Lydia Edwards, Ella Mae Joseph (Sylvester) and Victoria Pollard (Jimmy), all of New Orleans, LA; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his wife, Lessie Mary Malveaux Edwards; his parents, Mr. Christopher Edwards and Mrs. Odelia Harris Edwards; four sons, Phillip, John, Larry and Cedric Edwards; two daughters, Majorie Lee Edwards and Earline Marie Edwards; three brothers, Marshall Stephens, Landres Seraille and Ernest Edwards; three sisters, Mary Burton, Amy Edwards and Christine Edwards; four grandsons, Benjamin Travis Green, John Edwards, Frederick Edwards, Jr. and Wallace Richard, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m.
