Obituary For John Wilson

Deacon John Everette “Moot” Wilson age 77, of Iron Station, North Carolina transitioned peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2023 at his residence with his loving wife by his side.

He was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina on February 21, 1946 to the late Roy Wilson, Sr. and Etta Cumberlander Wilson.

He attended Newbold High School. He was a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon and Superintendent of Sunday School. He retired from Vermont American.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Minister Doris Wilson of the home; four sons, Johnny Hamilton (Michelle) of Gastonia, NC; John L. Wilson (Felecia) of Charlotte, NC; Scottie Wilson (Barbara) of Denver, NC; Ron Wilson (Mikki) of Mt. Holly, NC; one daughter, Dotheia Jolly (Tyrone) of Newton, NC; two sisters,Rev. Gwen Cobb of Lincolnton, NC; Dorotha Barber of Washington, DC; eleven grandchildren

Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. There will be a public walk through on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

My heart is saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Wilson. I know you all loved him, but God loved him more. He is among those who have gone on before; that great cloud of witnesses. No more sickness, pain or suffering. Peace, happiness and rejoicing forever more. All Praise to God for the legacy he leaves behind; his wife, his children and his grandchildren.
