Obituary For Valerie Ray

Spartanburg, SC: Valerie Ray entered into eternal rest on October 14,2023.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 12:00 noon in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens,2256 Cannnons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC.

Valerie was very close to our family for many years, and I admired her beauty when I was a young girl. She was so kind to us, and my late Mother was very fond of her. I have a lasting memory of my first trip to Carowinds with her and a family member 47 years ago when I was 13. We last saw her 27 years ago when my Mother was sick, when she visited the home, then later at the hospital the night our Mother passed. We often thought of her and tried to inquire about her through possible connections upon learning of her illness. My Sister had just mentioned her name a few days ago before learning of her passing from the newspaper. We'd like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the Ray family.
