I am so incredibly sad that Sonya has passed. She was and is a jewel of a person. I take solace in knowing that her education and training as a teacher and a healer will go with her into the heavens and she will be able to help others and she will be treated as the wise, royal, incredible angel that she is. To her sweet children and husband, I hope you feel peace. I hope you feel her presence and see the signs that she is still with you. I hope you are blessed with peace and with good sleep, and that Sonya's angelic form will visit you in your dreams to help guide you in your times of trouble. Know that you are loved and that Sonya is in a beautiful place and utilizing her talents to her fullest potential without the constraints and limitations of this probationary earth. I love you all and I am praying for you during this time.

Please accept my most heartfelt condolences on the excruciating loss of Mrs. Sonya. I experienced the honor of being one of Sonya's fellow classmates at Augusta University. The first time I ever met Sonya, I knew she was one of a kind. When Sonya walked into class, she immediately repelled a light so bright that it illuminated the entire classroom. Her wisdom, selflessness, intelligence, and profound love for her family did not go unnoticed. She was truly inspiring. It was a pleasure to have been blessed with Sonya's presence. I will forever be grateful for the insight that Sonya shared and brought forth. I wish the family peace and solace during this time. My prayers and thoughts go out to the family. -Holly Psalm 23:4

My Prayers are with the Wells Family, friends, and her church family. Your warm smile and giving spirit will be missed, but never forgotten. My husband, Ronnie, and I met Sonya through her husband, Jerald Wells Sr. We were affiliated through our former church in Germany. When I met Sonya I was starting a daycare. I was in need of so much to get my daycare up and running. Sonya had a daycare in Germany and when they relocated to the Augusta area she brought everything to setup her daycare center, but I guess God had another assignment for her. Sonya and Jerold filled every room in my daycare center. What a blessing!!! I offered to pay them, but they wouldn't take a dime! I was in disbelief. I have never seen such a giving soul in my life. This is how I will always remember Sonya. Sonya had a smile that would change your day and a heart of gold and would give you her last and didn't expect anything in return. She was a blessing! Take you rest my beautiful sister. I will always remember and love you! Shelia Rivers

I enjoyed getting to know Sonya through classes at Augusta University. I noticed that Sonya had a humble confidence. She shared her observations and perspectives in such a way as to encourage productive dialogue. Sonya's compassion for the students she served was inspiring. Most profound was her unequivocal love for her family. She always spoke of her family with love and respect. She will be missed by all of us in the Student Counseling program.
