Obituary For Roger Dale Wood

Roger Dale Wood, 71 of Chico, TX, passed away Thursday, October 12th, 2023 in Decatur, TX.

A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21st, at the Sunset Baptist Church in Sunset, TX.

Roger was born in Henrietta, TX on April 26, 1952 to John and Louise (Trotter) Wood. As a young man he served his country in the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany. On February 25, 1975 he married Joyce Davidson in Alvord, TX, and together they raised three children. He had worked in the oilfield for many years, but retired from GTG Solutions in 2018. Roger was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing and camping, but most of all being with his family.

He is preceded in death by his father John Wood, son Chance Wood, and nephew, John Wood.

Roger is survived by his wife, Joyce Wood of Chico; daughter Michelle Ceat and husband Jackson of Bellevue, TX; son Dustin Wood of Chico; grandchildren, Tucker Wood of Oregon, Kylie Humbarger and husband Alex of Alabama, Adi Wood of Chico, and bonus grandson, Zavian Nelson of Wichita Falls; brothers, Clifton Wood and wife Kathy of Riverside, CA, Kenneth Wood and wife Jane of Crafton, TX, and Alan Wood and wife Marsha of Bowie, TX; mother, Louise Wood of Bowie; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
