John C. Dixon, Jr.

John C. Dixon Jr., son of John C. Dixon Sr. and Aggie L. Dixon, was born October 25, 1958, in Ft. Mitchell, AL/Columbus, GA. He moved to New Jersey, where he attended Monmouth County Public Schools. He is a proud graduate of Red Bank Regional High School Class of 1976. While attending Red Bank Regional he was well known for several activities such as music and sports. John Jr. pursued his passion for wrestling and football while attending HBCU Virginia State University. In 2018, John C. Dixon Jr. was inducted into the Red Bank Regional High School Football Hall of Fame.

In 1975, John Jr. gave his life to Christ as an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank, NJ. He later joined/attended several ministries wherever he resided to maintain his spiritual relationship. John Jr. was last an active member of Victory Tabernacle, Conyers GA until the COVID-19 pandemic forced the church to move its services to virtual. Throughout his life, John Jr. believed in "love thy neighbor as thyself.” Daily he would walk this out with many acts of kindness and being of service to those around him. There is a saying, β€œHe would give the shirt off of his back.” This was a true statement about John Jr.

John Jr. was an expert salesperson. He honed his skills early in life by walking hundreds of miles brokering thousands of dollars in sales of products and services. His skills brought him to his final position as an Area Automotive Brokering Representative. His passion for cars led him to be an active member of the Black Panther Corvette Club of Atlanta GA. He participated in several Corvette competitions where he presented his late model C4 Corvette and was rewarded as a class winner in multiple contests.

John C. Dixon Jr. was united with his beautiful wife Cecilia Baker on July 23, 2006. The union blessed John Jr. with two daughters, Desiree and Danielle Baker. The life that John Jr. and Cecilia created was one only God could bring together. He was her protector while she was his Queen. Desiree and Danielle were equally his pride and joy. He always encouraged them to never limit themselves and to live life to the fullest.

John Jr. transitioned on September 21, 2023, at Emory University Hospital with his loving family at his bedside. John is survived by his father John C. Dixon Sr. (Conyers, GA), his wife Cecilia Dixon (Stone Mountain, GA), daughters Desiree Baker (Los Angeles, CA) and Danielle Baker (Chicago, IL); brother Louis A. Dixon (Lisa N. Dixon) (Fredericksburg, VA); sister Dr. Dolores L. Dixon-Grevious (Dr. Mark A. Grevious) (Chicago, IL); and a host of devoted nieces, nephew, cousins, aunt, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Aggie L. Dixon.

John Jr. will be remembered for his love of family, friends, and any person that he encountered while here on earth.
