Obituary For Mrs. Lena Mae Simpson

On Friday, October 6, 2023, Mrs. Lena Mae Wall Simpson, 87, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born April 16, 1936 in Raeford, NC to the late Mr. Jessie Wall and Mrs. Johnson Flowers Wall. She was also proceeded in death by her husband, James Currie; five brothers, Lacy Wall, Paul Wall, Commey Wall, Postell Wall, and JC Wall; four sisters, Vinnie McQueen, Donnetta Nicholson, Sarah Dobbins, and Dorothy Jones; and two grandchildren, Re’na Currie and Brandon Brice.

Mrs. Simpson moved to High Point, NC in her late teens where she worked and retired from Woodmark Originals after 30 years of service as an upholster. She was also a long-standing member of Friendship Holiness Church. Mrs. Lena cherished precious time spent with her family and was considered by most as the glue that held the family together. She made an impact in the lives of anyone that she graced with her presence. To know her is to know that she welcomed everyone with open arms and a good home cooked meal.

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Friendship Holiness Church, with Pastor Elder Thomas Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
