Mrs. Beverly Jean Jackson, 68, of Columbus, GA passed Friday, October 6, 2023 in Columbus, GA.
Memorial service will be 12 noon EST, Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Columbus, GA with Pastor Hammonds, officiating.
Mrs. Jackson was born January 5, 1955 in Columbus, GA to the late Willie Lester, Sr. and the late Thelma Beverly. Ten years after being widowed by her high school sweetheart, William Jackson, Jr., Beverly Holmes met her lifelong partner, George Banks. This union is where her one and only daughter, Jasmine Tashell Banks-Jackson was born.
Beverly excepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was a Sunday school teacher at Macedonia Baptist Church for several years and served at high capacities.
She graduated from Kendrick High School in 1978, then from Troy State University with two master degrees: Academic Education and Special Education. She retired twice after teaching 38 years between Russell County and Muscogee County School Systems.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death other than by her parents, Willie Lester Holmes and Thelma Holmes; Helen Beverly. Jessie Beverly, Ben Beverly, Henry Battle, James Holmes, Johnny Holmes and Jeff Holmes.
She left behind to celebrate her life and carry on her powerful legacy, one daughter, Jasmine Tashell Banks-Jackson; one lifelong partner, George David Banks; one brother, Willie L. Holmes, Jr.; two uncles, King Beverly and David Watts; four aunts, Ruth Beverly, Beverly Brown-Jackson, Bennie Mae Holmes, Fern Holmes; three nieces, Tyrnesa Holmes, Phoenix Holmes-Strickland and Bianco Gardner; three nephews, Darius Jackson, Zechariah Holmes and Darrion Strickland; four great nieces, Shakemmion Jackson, Tikezia Holmes, Alexia Holmes and Kayla Jackson; two great-great nephews, Anthony Holmes and La'Vonte Holmes; one unborn great-great niece; and the Macedonia Baptist Church Family.
I'm deeply sorry for your loss, words can not express. But the Bible gives us hope and comfor lt to know real soon death will be done away with.
