NINA YEVETTA MAXIE SMELTZ was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Jessie Mae Stern and Edward Lloyd Maxie.
She received her formal education in the Harrisburg School District/William Penn Vo-Tech Campus where she studied Cosmetology, excelling in academics. Nina worked various jobs in the Harrisburg area but her best job she ever had was doing hair.
In Nina’s leisure time she enjoyed canning, gardening, listening to music (Michael Jackson “Thriller” was one of her favorite songs), singing and spending time with family and friends. Her grandchildren, Elizet Ace and Leia Alaine Kolva. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her 2 best friends, Shannie Manning-Black and Tiffany Proctor- Solomon.
