PUBLIC VISITATION for Mr. James Hughes of Aliceville, Alabama was Friday, October 6, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Lavender’s Funeral Service.

THE HOME GOING CELEBRATION HONORING THE LIFE & LEGACY of Mr. James Hughes was Saturday, October 7, 2023, 1:00 p.m. in the James & Lola Lavender Memorial Chapel of Lavender’s Funeral Service, 11233 Highway 17 South in Aliceville, Alabama. The body of Mr Hughes was in state in the chapel one hour prior to the service

INTERMENT was in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, 364 New Salem Road in Aliceville, Alabama. Reverend Tyrone Cole was The Eulogist.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of James; death is such an ugly enemy that robs us of times with our loved ones. I would like to comfort the family with a scripture found at Acts 24:15, which reads: "There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous". What is this scripture saying? One day soon, all of our loved ones who have died will rise from the grave and be resurrected, no matter if they practiced good or bad. Yes, you will see James again!
