Mr. Henry Lawson, Jr. was born December 26, 1935, in Copiah County, Mississippi to the late Pauline D. Dillard and late Henry Weston. At an early age he confessed his life to Christ and established membership with Sharon Grove Church. Later he united with Greater Livingston Church and New Hope M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Marshall McGee, where he served faithfully until his health weakened.
One of Henry Lawson’s greatest passion was welding. He touched so many lives from countless hours of working in his beloved shop and worked until his health declined. When not at home, he was most likely at the shop, which he owned for over fifty years. His work was truly intricate and unique, with his most beloved and treasured work being the welding of Love, Amusement, strong Work ethic, Sincerity, Oneness and Nonstop jokes to comprise the LAWSON family is by far his greatest passion and accomplishment. He touched so many lives from countless hours of working in his beloved shop and worked until his health declined.
Henry was joined in Holy Matrimony to the Late Hazel Smith and to this union one daughter was born. He later married Annie Mae Thompson and to this union five children were born.
Mr. Henry leaves to cherish his memory a faithful and loving wife Annie Mae Lawson of Jackson, MS; six children; Henrietta Lawson-Johnson of Edwards, MS; Mary (Michael) Harris of Jackson, MS; Henry Earl (Beverly) Lawson of Edwards, MS; Dr. Kathia Lawson-Polk of Jackson, MS; James Henry (Loretta) Lawson of Bolton, MS; Willie (Shenice) Lawson of Orange Park, FL; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren: two sisters OT Edwards and Mary Davis (Bobby) both of Jackson, MS: one brother Earnest Weston of Jackson, MS and a host of relatives and friends.
