Connie attended schools in Richmond, Co. and Aberdeen, NC. She was an advent church member of Solid Rock Holiness and St. Mary Holiness Church of God under the leadership of Bishop Ruth Monroe. During her time worshiping there, Conne served in multiple roles, but her most memorable was her choir singing. One of her favorite songs was “If I had a hammer”. There are many memories we all can share about Connie’s love for God. It was through fellowshipping that Connie met her husband, Edward Johnson and they were blessed with five children and 18 1/2 years of matrimony and moved to High Point, NC to raise their family. She would travel weekly and every holiday to continue her fellowship with her family. Later in life, Connie re-married and was blessed with another child.

Connie worked various jobs throughout High Point until retiring. Of all the jobs she has had, two of her favorites were cooking, meeting and talking to people, and her love for her family. She loved to cook and feed people. She did not believe in people being hungry. If you told her you were hungry, she would go and prepare a plate for you. And honey, Mrs. Connie could cook. Especially her greens, fried chicken, sweet pies and oxtails and beef ribs. All in saying, Mrs. Connie was a wonderfully blessed loving and kind woman.
